Who it is for
Built around your trade, not a catalogue
A van that is a mess costs you time on every single job. Not dramatically — just five minutes here hunting for a fitting, ten minutes there unloading three things to reach a fourth. Across a week it adds up to real money.
We design the interior around the work you actually do: what you carry every day versus once a month, what has to come out first, what needs to be reachable from the back doors in the rain, and what has to be locked away. Then we cut it on the same CNC machinery we use for our campervan cabinetry.
Because we are a manufacturer, the layout is not constrained to a modular system designed for a European van in a catalogue. If the answer for your trade is a full-width drawer at the back and nothing on the left, that is what gets built.

Materials and construction
The same birch plywood, CNC-cut edges and brushed hardware as our campervan cabinetry, specified harder where a work van demands it — steel drawer runners rated for load, durable raised floor surfaces, and tie-down rails that take real restraint loads rather than decorative hooks.

Two ways to buy
Kit or complete fit out
The same modules, the same machining. The difference is who installs them and how far the specification goes.
Modular kit
A CNC-cut, pre-drilled, flat-packed package of shelving, drawer units and parts storage sized for your van. You or your own team install it with basic tools.
Suits shelving and drawer packages, single vehicles, owner-operators who would rather spend a Saturday than a day off the road. Freighted anywhere in New Zealand.
Complete fit out
Bring the van to our Auckland workshop and collect it finished. Design, manufacture, install, wiring for task lighting and power, and a walk-through at handover.
Suits raised floors, heavy full-width drawers, workbenches, fleet vehicles that need to be identical, and anyone who wants the van off the road once rather than twice.
Running a fleet?
Once a layout is drawn and cut for one vehicle, repeating it across a fleet is straightforward and gets cheaper per van. If you are replacing vehicles on a cycle, tell us — it changes how we would design the first one.
Vehicle fit
Vans we convert
Our cabinetry is engineered around New Zealand’s most common conversion vans. Dimensions change between generations and wheelbases, so we always confirm the fit against your exact make, model and year before anything is cut.
Toyota HiAce
The default conversion van in New Zealand, and our primary platform. Long and super-long wheelbase, standard and high roof. Also the Toyota Regius, Granvia and HiAce Super Custom.
Nissan NV350 & Caravan
Very close to the HiAce in footprint and the second most converted van here. Same layouts apply with minor changes to the cabinetry.
People movers & mid-size vans
Toyota Alphard, Nissan Elgrand, LDV G10 and similar. Tighter, so layouts are more compact — ask us and we will tell you honestly what will fit.
Larger vans, motorhomes and RVs
Our kits are designed for small and mid-size vans. If you are converting a long-wheelbase Sprinter, Ford Transit or LDV Deliver 9, or fitting out a bus or coachbuilt motorhome, talk to us anyway — Nomado is New Zealand’s exclusive distributor for Malibu of Germany and Wingamm of Italy, so larger-vehicle work is familiar territory even where a standard kit does not apply.

How much does a van fit out cost?
Price on enquiry. A modular shelving and drawer package is a very different job from a full raised-floor fit out with a workbench and vertical pipe storage. We scope against your vehicle and your trade, then quote against an agreed layout so the number you get is the number you pay.
Can I buy a fit out as a kit and install it myself?
Yes. The modules are CNC-cut, pre-drilled and flat-packed the same way our campervan kits are, so a competent person can install a shelving and drawer package with basic tools. Full raised floors and heavy full-width drawers are better fitted by us.
Which vehicles do you fit out?
Our focus is the Toyota HiAce and comparable small to mid-size vans, including the Nissan NV350 and Caravan and the LDV G10. Larger vans such as the Sprinter, Transit and Deliver 9 can be quoted as a custom fit out rather than from a standard module set.
Will the fit out affect my payload?
It will — every fit out adds weight, and that matters. We talk through payload and weight distribution as part of scoping, and we will tell you when a spec is getting heavy for your vehicle. Confirming your van’s rated payload and how it is loaded in practice is part of the conversation, not an afterthought.
Is the fit out removable?
The plywood modules are designed to be unbolted and removed, which helps at resale or when a vehicle is replaced. Where a module needs to be structurally fixed we will say so up front.
How long does a commercial fit out take?
Fit out slots are scheduled rather than first-come, and the van needs to be with us in Auckland for the install. We give you a real date when we quote, because a work van off the road costs you money and a vague estimate is no use to you.
